METHUEN - Wells C. "Beany" Bean Sr., 70, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008 at Caritas Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.

Bean was born in Lawrence on Oct. 23, 1937 to parents, Robert and Sadie (Spencer) Beany. After receiving his education in Lawrence, Mr. Bean served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1954 to 1956.

Mr. Bean was employed at Borden Chemical in North Andover in the Maintenance Department. He also worked at Shawsheen Coating and Converting, until his retirement in 2001.

He was a member of the Lawrence Elks Lodge 65. Beany enjoyed spending winters in Florida, traveling in his RV, and camping. He was a man of all trades, he was skilled in carpentry, cabinetry, electrical, fabrications, plumbing, and framing. He was a special man.
