LAWRENCE - Raoul E. Proulx, 84, long-time South Lawrence resident, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008 at Caritas Holy Family Hospital, after a brief period of declining health.

Born in Haverhill on Sept. 23, 1924, he was the son of the late Alfred and Eva M. (Goudreau) Proulx. He was raised in Haverhill and was educated in local schools.

He served this nation during World War II with the United States Army. He was a ski trooper in the 10th Mountain Division on Camp Hale, Co.

On Nov. 11, 1945 he was married to Doris (Roy) Proulx, of South Lawrence, his devoted wife of 62 years, in the former Sacred Heart Church.
