THREE MEMORIES OR MOMENTS THAT SHOW WHAT MAKES THE
CLASS OF 2009 SPECIAL AND UNIQUE
The Class of 2009 pulled a great senior prank! They arrived early one morning and parked their cars askew in the faculty parking lot with signs on their cars that read - Caution: Seniors Parking. Faculty then had to park in the student lot after having a good laugh at the prank. The seniors were also considerate, though, for they left one teacher's usual parking space available for her due to health concerns. A nice combination of humor and compassion!

My fondest memory of the Class of 2009 is of their adopting the entire class of ninth graders this year (in contrast to pairing up individually with a frosh "baby sister"). From the beginning of the year, the seniors made the Class of 2013 feel special by inviting them to lunch in the Senior Caf, by surprising them by decorating their lockers with candy and other items on Halloween, Christmas surprises and so on. Most recently the seniors carpeted the ninth grade hallway with hundreds of jelly-bean colored balloons. The Class of 2013, and all the rest of us at the Academy of Notre Dame, will miss their big sisters in the graduating Class of 2009!
The Class of 2009 is a class with a multitude of gifts. Some are gifted with extending help to the less fortunate, others with creativity in art or in writing, singing, or dancing. Academically, they have followed a rigorous program which will ensure their success in college. Although more than ready to graduate and leave the Academy, many are already talking about returning to help with the annual summer "New Student Sleepover" and our fall Open Houses for new students.
