- 2nd Essex State Representative
- With longtime state Rep. Harriett Stanley retiring at the end of this year, the field is open to two candidates: Democrat Barry Fogel and Republican Lenny Mirra, both of West Newbury.
- 1st Essex State Senate Seat
- Four candidates are vying for this open seat: Democrat Kathleen O'Connor Ives of Newburyport, Democrat Shaun Toohey of Haverhill, and independets Jim Kelcourse of Amesbury and Paul Magliocchetti of Haverhill.
- Question 1: Motor vehicle repair
- Would prohibit any motor vehicle manufacturer, starting with model year 2015, from selling or leasing, either directly or through a dealer, a new motor vehicle without allowing the owner to have access to the same diagnostic and repair information made available to the manufacturer's dealers and in-state authorized repair facilities.
- Question 2: Prescribing medications to end life
- Would allow a physician licensed in Massachusetts to prescribe medication, at a terminally ill patient's request, to end that patient's life.
- Question 3: Medical use of marijuana
- Would eliminate state criminal and civil penalties for the medical use of marijuana by qualifying patients. To qualify, a patient must have been diagnosed with a debilitating medical condition.
